Richard's Round Up April 2023 - Innovation in pharmacy

With the world continuing to evolve, innovation has become increasingly vital to the progress and success of all aspects of life and business, including the pharmacy profession. Businesses need to constantly strive to adapt and match the current rate of change  by adopting new and innovative ideas in order to remain relevant and professionally viable.

PSWA is excited to announce the upcoming PSWA Innovation Night to encourage pharmacists in Western Australia to apply innovative ideas to their practice and support the progress of our profession.

Innovation has the power to transform the way pharmacists practice both at a professional and operational level, and this can lead to significant positive impact on patient health outcomes. The healthcare industry, including pharmacy, is constantly evolving with new technologies and innovative practices emerging all the time. By embracing these innovations, the pharmacy profession can enhance its own practice, improve patient care, and even reduce healthcare costs.

At the upcoming PSWA Innovation Night, PSWA is inviting pharmacists from all areas of pharmacy to pitch their ideas about innovation in pharmacy. The event will feature a presentation by a profession leader, a pitch competition to a panel of eminent judges and also a wonderful networking opportunity, all designed to encourage pharmacists to think creatively and outside the box.

All pharmacists who attend this event will gain valuable insights into the innovations being developed by pharmacists in WA. They will also have the opportunity to share their own innovative ideas by joining the pitch competition.

In conclusion, innovation is the key to success in the pharmacy profession and the upcoming PSWA Innovation Night is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists in Western Australia to learn about potential innovations in pharmacy practice. I encourage all pharmacists to attend this event and take advantage of the valuable insights and opportunities it offers.  Let's embrace innovation and work together to improve patient care and advance the field of pharmacy.

Stay safe
